If you haven't seen Mastodon's video for the Aqua Teen movie then you fucked up. Don't bother looking it up; you have already failed. Move on with this previously unreleased single from Crack the Skye.
Mastodon should not be granted any control over their music videos because they make stupid shit. Fuckin' aliens and Yetis and shit... just, no... stop. Their early videos are good but something went horribly awry between Leviathan and Blood Mountain. This video makes me happy because it shows that the guys aren't taking themselves too seriously these days. I saw them about a year ago and their attitudes were certainly problematic. Hinds kicked Sanders, dissed the audience and left. With the new album, The Hunter, on the way, fans are anxious to see a return to the good ol'e days and those fat, beloved grooves. Deathbound certainly delivers. At first, titles like All the Heavy Lifting and The Octopus Has No Friends made me facepalm hard, but now I'm thinking this is just the kind of mindset the Georgia Foursome needs.
